Hallstatt is the ideal place for winter hiking, since it offers both the perfect scenery and history of many centuries. Check out the Hallstatt World Heritage museum in the town centre as part of a winter hike. You’ll learn about salt mining and how it was transported in days of yore or about the great fire of 1750, in which the saltworks town burned almost entirely to the ground.
