Corpus Christi will be celebrated in Hallstatt as a big event. The festivity starts at 09.00 AM with the holy mass in the catholic church in Hallstatt. Afterwards the procession starts with the marching band, flag bearers and the rest of the catholic community. Next stop is at the market square where they bless, play and sing. At the market square of Hallstatt inhabitants wait in traditional clothes “Dirndl” and “Lederhose”. Afterwards the procession moves on to the festive decorated boats and floats and the procession will be continued at the Lake Hallstatt. The inhabitants drive with their wooden boats, called “Fuhr” to join the lake procession very close.

As a guest you may join the lake procession as well. Either you buy a ticket for a tour boat or you rent an electric boat for this event. Tickets for the tour boat may be bought on that day starting at 08.00 AM at the cash desks of the ship company Hallstatt. Electric boats can be rent at the boat rental Fam.Schwarzmayr or Fam.Hemetsberger. The final station of the procession is again at the market square Hallstatt.

The lake procession only takes place in case of good weather.
