Arrival & parking

At the heart of the Dachstein World Heritage Site, nestled in between awe-inspiring mountain ridges and emerald-green Lake Hallstatt, you’ll find the Heritage.Hotel Hallstatt. To make your journey here as smooth as possible, we’ve put together everything you need to know about getting here.

Arrival by car

Hallstatt town centre – and that includes the Heritage.Hotel – is off-limits to cars. We would kindly ask that you leave your car on car park P1 (address: Salinenplatz 4, 4830 Hallstatt).

No booking is available for parking spaces on P1. On busy days, we recommend keeping your hotel booking confirmation ready to show to the car park attendant. This will help you to get the next available parking space more quickly.

Take the shuttle to the hotel (red VW bus marked Hallstatt Shuttle). The shuttle service runs daily from 9.00am till 7.00pm and is included in the parking fee before checking in and after checking out, if you have a valid parking slip. Should you be arriving between 7pm and 09.30pm, please advise us in time so that we can organise your transfer to the hotel.

Car park rates for hotel guests: €18 for 24 hours

Arrival by train

Hallstatt station lies on the other side of Lake Hallstatt.

This means the only way to get to Hallstatt town centre from the station is by ferry.

Hemetsberger shipping service times its ferries to coincide with every arriving and departing train. The ferry itself will drop you off right on the Heritage.Hotel Hallstatt’s doorstep.

Please note: The last ferry of the day departs from Hallstatt station at 6.50pm. Should you be arriving on a later train, you will need to get off at Obertraun station and proceed the rest of way by taxi (around 7 kilometres).
